Why advertiser declined action on Takeads

Advertisers can reject:

  • Actions currently on hold, i.e., if the advertiser is confirming them.
  • Actions that have already been confirmed.

Below are some possible reasons why your actions might have been declined. Please note, rewards aren't paid for declined actions.

Action was canceled or order was returned

A user performed a target action but later changed their mind and either canceled it during processing or delivery, or returned the order linked to the action after it was received. In this case, the advertiser will decline the action.

Action breaks advertiser’s rules for cooperation

For example, if the advertiser only pays for actions from certain countries (e.g., France and Germany), but the action was performed via the tracking link on your platform from Estonia. In this case, the advertiser will decline the action.

You can find the list of approved countries and other terms and conditions in the advertiser’s rules in their card in the Advertisers section.

Action has been attributed to another traffic source or advertising channel

For example, the customer visited the advertiser’s site through the tracking link on your platform, but didn't perform an action.

Later, the same customer returned to the website after clicking a retargeted ad published by the advertiser and performed an action this time. If such an action appears in the reports, the advertiser will decline it, as the action was performed after clicking the advertiser’s ad rather than through the tracking link on your platform.

Everything is working as it should. An action is always attributed to the last link from a paid source that the user clicked before performing an action.

How declined action will be shown in your account

If the advertiser declined an action during processing:

  • The earnings for actions will be moved from in the Confirmed to the Declined column in Reports.
  • The earnings for actions will be removed from the Confirmed, awaiting advertiser payment section in Finance.

If the advertiser declines a confirmed action:

  • The Reports section will show the payment for the action in the Declined column.
  • The reward for the declined action will be deducted from your Takeads account balance. You can find these transactions in the Balance history, with the reason shown as Charge for action {{id}} and the transaction type shown as Balance decrease Learn more about Balance history
