This article explains why your total earnings may decrease.
Why has the confirmed amount decreased?
The amount in the Confirmed, available for withdrawal section in Finance and Confirmed column in Reports may decrease in the following cases:
- If the advertiser declines a previously confirmed action. Learn more in Why advertiser declined action on Takeads
- If the advertiser recalculates the reward for confirmed actions where buyers have only partially redeemed the order. Some advertisers' payments depend on the amount associated with the customer's action. If the customer only partially redeems the order related to the action, the earnings will be reduced in proportion to the total action amount. In this case, the difference will be deducted from the Confirmed, available for withdrawal section in favor of the advertiser.
Example:
The advertiser pays 5% of the order amount.
A customer places an order totaling $100.
The advertiser confirms the order and pays the publisher $5.
However, the customer returned some of the goods, and the final order amount totaled $80.
In this case, the publisher's payment falls to $4, and the difference between the initial and final reward ($1) will be debited from their account.
The amount in the Confirmed, available for withdrawal section also decreases when you withdraw funds from your Takeads account.
Why has the amount in the Confirmed, awaiting advertiser payment section and On hold column decreased?
The amount in the Confirmed, awaiting advertiser payment section in Finance and On hold column in Reports may decrease in the following cases:
- If the advertiser declines the action during the confirmation process. Learn more in Why advertiser declined action on Takeads
- If the advertiser's rules specify that the payment per action depends on additional factors. Some brands, for example, require that the final reward depends on who completed the target action — whether it was a new user or a returning one - whether it was a new user or a returning one. The payment for a new customer's action is usually higher than that for an existing one. Therefore, if it's found during the confirmation process that the action was performed by a registered user, the preliminary reward may decrease according to the advertiser's rules.
- If the total action amount changes during the advertiser's confirmation of the action. Some brands require that the final reward depends on the actual amount paid for the order associated with the action. If the customer only partially redeems the order related to the action, the earnings will be reduced in proportion to the total order amount.
Example:
The brand pays 5% of the order amount.
A customer places an order totaling $100.
The provisional reward, $5, will show in the Confirmed, awaiting advertiser payment section in Finance and in the On hold column in Reports.
However, the customer returned some of the goods, and the final order amount totaled $50.
In this case, the preliminary reward will decrease because the publisher's final reward will only amount to $2.5.
