CPA tracking: which domain to choose

  • Atualizado

In some CPA programs, you can choose which domain will be used to track orders: the Admitad domain or the advertiser domain.

Tracking via the Admitad domain

How it works:
The affiliate link leads to the Admitad domain, which redirects the user to the advertiser’s website. Admitad records clicks and conversion data.

Benefits:

  • The link does not depend on the advertiser’s settings and continues to work even if the advertiser changes its parameters.
  • Clicks are shown in statistics.
  • All links use the same format.
  • You can use SubID to mark up traffic and track campaign performance.
  • For convenience, you can use a short link and a deeplink.

Limitations:

  • Some browser extensions and settings may block links, so the user may not reach the website or complete the target action.
  • On mobile devices, apps may not open through the link.
  • Navigation takes 50–100 ms longer because of the redirect through Admitad.
  • Some users may trust the advertiser domain more than the Admitad domain.

Tracking via the advertiser domain

How it works:
The link leads directly to the advertiser’s website. Clicks are not recorded in Admitad. After the target action is completed, the advertiser sends conversion data to Admitad.

Benefits:

  • The link looks more natural, so the audience is more likely to trust it.
  • Antivirus tools, browser extensions, and external filters are less likely to block the link.
  • On mobile devices, the link can open the app directly if it is installed and the advertiser has configured the redirect.
  • There is no extra redirect, so navigation is faster.

Limitations:

  • Clicks are not shown in Admitad statistics.
  • If the advertiser changes the link parameters or redirect logic, you need to update the affiliate link manually.
  • Each affiliate program has its own link format.
  • SubID and deeplink availability depends on the advertiser’s affiliate program settings.

Choose a domain depending on what matters more to you: full statistics and SubID support, or faster navigation and higher audience trust in the link.
