How to add a SubID to an affiliate link

  • Updated

SubID is a parameter added to an affiliate link as a tag for detailed tracking and analysis of traffic sources and ad campaign performance. If you use a SubID, you can view its statistics in the Statistics section.

For example, you may place the same affiliate link on your source several times in different posts. A SubID lets you identify which post performs better.

SubID Features

  • You can add it to any affiliate link for a product in the Product catalog and Deals and promo codes sections;
  • You can include it in a full link or generate a short link with it;
  • It works with affiliate links from all ad campaigns;
  • You can add only one SubID to a link;
  • You can create a SubID for the same affiliate link multiple times.

How to generate a short link with a SubID

Short links are commonly used for social media advertising. They are easier to share because they fit into text fields with character limits.

  1. In the product list, select the product you want to promote and click it to open its product card.
  2. In the SubID field, enter &subid=XXX, where XXX is the value you want to add to the link as a tag. This can be the ID of your source or ad.
  3. Click Generate short link—the Short affiliate link field appears.
  4. Next to the Short affiliate link field, click the Copy icon to copy the generated short link.
  5. Place the product link on your source.

Generating a short link with a SubID takes a few seconds. You will see a notification when the link has been copied to the clipboard.
If you use Safari, wait for the short link to appear in the pop-up window.
